Meet the Assistant Principals
Dr. Chris Booz

Dr. Booz joined the Greene County School System in 2025, bringing 20 years of experience in education across Georgia, Virginia, and Tennessee. She holds a Doctorate of Education from Virginia Commonwealth University, a master’s degree from Trevecca Nazarene University, and a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Tennessee at Martin.
Throughout her career, Dr. Booz has served in diverse roles — including as a teacher, department chair, and elementary assistant principal — equipping her with a broad perspective on effective teaching and learning. This school year in Greene County, she has already supported teachers in strengthening instructional strategies and contributed to ongoing efforts to improve student engagement and achievement.
Before joining the Greene County School System, Dr. Booz’s leadership experiences included helping schools significantly reduce chronic absenteeism, expanding after-school programs and tutoring opportunities, and partnering with arts-integration initiatives to make learning more engaging and accessible for students. She is also recognized for her work in recruiting and retaining highly effective teachers and supporting professional growth among educators.
“I am thrilled to join the GCES leadership team and begin working with our incredible students, teachers, and families,” said Dr. Booz. “Greene County has such a strong and vibrant school community, and I look forward to supporting our educators as we create engaging, inclusive learning environments where every child can thrive.”
Mrs. Priscilla Jones

A lifelong resident of Greene County and graduate of the Greene County School System, Mrs. Jones brings more than 25 years of experience in the district and has served in a wide range of leadership roles. She began her career as a classroom teacher and grade chair before serving as an instructional coach at Greensboro Elementary School, where she partnered with teachers to strengthen instructional strategies, implement data-driven decision-making, and improve student outcomes. In addition, she served as a mentor liaison and coordinated the afterschool program.
From 2017-2025, she has served as the district’s Preschool Director, leading curriculum development, teacher training, and early childhood readiness initiatives. Under her leadership, Greene County’s Pre-K program has seen significant growth and success, recently earning a 348 on its Cognia 2025 accreditation review, a score above the state average and a testament to her dedication to quality early learning.
Mrs. Jones also serves as site co-director for the Foothills program at Greene County High School, where she oversees daily operations, manages staff, supports instructional programs, and fosters a positive school culture focused on student success. Her experience leading teams, mentoring educators, and improving academic programs uniquely positioned her to step into the role of GCES Assistant Principal in August 2025.
“Greene County has always been home for me, and it’s been a privilege to spend my entire career serving my community,” said Mrs. Jones. “I am deeply honored to step into this new role and to continue working alongside our dedicated educators to ensure every child at GCES has the tools, opportunities, and support they need to succeed.”
Mrs. Jones holds a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, and Educational Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Piedmont College, and leadership certificates from Valdosta State University.
