Mrs. Priscilla Jones is a native of Greene County and a proud graduate of Greene-Taliaferro Comprehensive High School. Mrs. Jones serves as the Preschool Coordinator and has more than 20 years of experience in the field of education.
As the Preschool Coordinator, she is dedicated to leading the students and staff through the building blocks of readiness. Her mission is to experience life through teaching and leading others. She continues to echo to her students and staff members the “sky is the limit” and the only barriers are the ones we set for ourselves. Her theme for Preschool is “The Power of a Bright Start”. Mrs. Jones believes her leadership is demonstrated through dedication, determination, and hard work.
Mrs. Jones began her career as a fourth and fifth grade elementary teacher. As a teacher, she served as grade chair and mentor. Among other committees, she proudly served on GES Homecoming Committee, Reading Bowl, GCSS Spelling Bee, GES School Council, PTA, and GCSS MLK Day of Service. In 2009, she was named Greensboro Elementary School’s Teacher of the Year. In 2010, she was named Horace Mann’s teacher of the month. Mrs. Jones also was nominated as PTA teacher of the year for 2009-2010.
Her last assignment before becoming a coordinator was an Instructional Coach for Greensboro Elementary School. She served in this capacity for eight years. As a literacy coach, she provided information and guidance regarding a range of effective and innovative literacy practices through various activities including: individual discussions, coaching sessions, modeling, data analysis comprehension, study groups, staff meetings, and professional development programs. Mrs. Jones also served as the Site Director for Pete Nance Boys and Girls Afterschool program for six years at Greensboro Elementary School until this program ended.
Mrs. Jones received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Early Childhood Education from Piedmont College. She earned her Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Piedmont College as well. Mrs. Jones also received her Educational Leadership certification from Valdosta State University. Mrs. Jones resides in Greensboro with her husband and three sons.
